THE PREDICTION

World number 23 Caroline Garcia overcame Elisabetta Cocciaretto in three sets on Tuesday, bouncing back from her three-set defeat to Emma Raducanu as France lost out to Great Britain at the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers last weekend. The former number four is at her best on clay, although her elusive peak level is a match for anybody across all surfaces, but a shoulder issue has plagued her recent encouraging form and her matches should be treated with caution this week in Rouen. World number 68 Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova is also at her best in these conditions but she rode her luck on Wednesday as Diane Parry was forced to retire injured a set-up in their first round match. Garcia has only recently beaten the likes of Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka at the Miami Open but backing her to win a match with confidence has been a tough task in recent months. Take the Frenchwoman to edge through outside of an accumulator or leave this match alone as we assess her fitness.

TIP: CAROLINE GARCIA TO WIN
