ANNA KALINSKAYA VS BIANCA ANDREESCU PREDICTION
23-year-old Bianca Andreescu is currently ranked outside of the top 200 after playing just 12 times on tour since the start of Roland-Garros last season. The Canadian has endured an inordinate amount of injuries, and lengthy ones, since her remarkable breakthrough on tour in 2019 that culminated in a maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open but she clearly still possesses the abilities of a top five player when fit.
World number 25 Anna Kalinaksya beat Clara Burel in tight straight sets on Monday to look composed at the start of her Roland-Garros campaign but no one will have wanted to draw Andreescu early in Paris, with the former number four a real anomaly having played so few clay swings before now.
25-year-old Kalinskaya reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January, and finished runner-up at the Dubai Masters a month later, but she has struggled to transfer that form onto clay so far to make this a really tough call. Keep this match far from any promising accumulators but otherwise back the Russian to earn at least a set to leave the result up to chance.
