THE PREDICTION

24-year-old Fabian Marozsan will break inside the top 40 for the first time after reaching the quarter-finals of a Masters event for the second, less than one year on from his debut at this level in which he made his name by upsetting Carlos Alcaraz en-route to the round of 16 in Rome. The Hungarian beat his Rome run by making the last eight in Shanghai last October, losing to eventual champion Hubert Hurkacz in three sets, and he has remarkably never exited an ATP 1000 tournament before the last 16 after an exit to Alcaraz at Indian Wells two weeks ago. This looks a step too far against world number five Alexander Zverev, who has coasted through after a blistering victory over Karen Khachanov on Tuesday, but Marozsan has already beaten two top 10 players this week in Holger Rune and Alex de Minaur, impressively in three sets, to warrant real caution. Back Zverev to win outright.

TIP: ALEXANDER ZVEREV TO WIN
