THE PREDICTION

13th seed Barbora Krejcikova is yet to drop a set this week in some seriously encouraging signs after a long period of struggling to come back from injury. The 26-year-old took out a good grass-courter in Viktorija Golubic on Thursday to improve her stock at Wimbledon, where she enjoyed a run to the round of 16 last season before defeat to eventual champion Ash Barty. Ajla Tomljanovic went one further last season with defeat to Barty in the quarter-finals but the Aussie proved herself a formidable foe on grass and she is looking solid once again this campaign. The world number 44 is also yet to drop a set after taking out 18th seed Jil Teichmann in the first round and racing past Catherine Harrison in the second. This first meeting between the two is a really tough call, mostly because 2021 Roland-Garros champion Krejcikova’s current ceiling is an unknown as she continues to regain her level. Take the Czech to win at least a set here and leave the winner up to chance.
