THE PREDICTION
Team Serbia have looked seriously hampered without world number one Novak Djokovic dragging them over the line and this final tie is not much more than a formality with Spain already 6-0 up in Group A. World number 42 Filip Krajinovic has done his part, though, with two singles wins over Viktor Durasovic and in three sets over Alejandro Tabilo as well as a doubles decider over Norway on Saturday. There will be some needle in this match for the 29-year-old as he takes on world number 20 Pablo Carreno Busta, who beat him in the ATP 500 Hamburg Open final last season in what was Krajinovic’s best campaign for years. 30-year-old PCB has looked unflappable so far this campaign but with some of the pressure off for points it would not be a surprise to see Krajinovic force a decider in this rematch with their head-to-head record at 1-1. The sensibly cautious move here, then, is for Carreno Busta to win at least a set as the likelier of two capable winners.
However, there is a significant chance that Krajinovic is bumped up to play Roberto Bautista Agut with Dusan Lajovic retiring from his match with Cristian Garin on Monday. Wait for confirmation but take PCB to beat whomever Serbia send out as Krajinovic's replacement in straight sets.
