Sevilla Preview: Sevilla’s issues
In each of the last two seasons, Sevilla have required three permanent managers to eventually push themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places and the Andalusians are onto their second manager this month with the sacking of Garcia Pimienta.
He has been replaced by Joaquin Caparros, who is now in his fifth stint in charge of the club, but it hasn’t started well as they come into this one on the back of a draw at home to Alaves in his first game before then being beaten 1-0 by Osasuna at El Sadar about ten days or so ago.
Leganes Preview: Lega fighting
Leganes have drawn too often in their fight against the drop in the last couple of months with the closest they have got to victories being when they were 2-1 up on separate occasions against both Real Betis and Real Madrid before going on to lose 3-2 in both games.
The visitors begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom three and the relegation places sitting four points adrift of safety with five games to go. Their 12th draw of the campaign came against Girona last time out when they scored a late equaliser via Munir.
Sevilla Team News: Lukebakio suspended
Sevilla have often looked toothless throughout the campaign aside from key attacker Dodi Lukebakio and he is now missing through suspension for this one, whilst fellow forwards Akor Adams and Ruben Vargas are both sidelined due to injury, too.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Nyland; Jose Angel Carmona, Bade, Kike Salas, Adria Pedrosa; Agoume, Saul; Juanlu, Sow, Suso; Gatito
Unavailable: Nianzou (Injured), Adams (Injured), Vargas (Injured), Lukebakio (Suspended)
Questionable: Sambi Lokonga (Injured)
Leganes Team News: Couple of suspensions
Ahead of their trip down south, Leganes are dealing with a couple of key suspension issues for this one such as Adria Altimira and midfielder Seydouba Cisse. They also have key defensive absentees, too, such as Borna Barisic and Enric Franquesa.
Predicted XI (3-4-3): Dmitrovic; Jorge Saenz, Sergio, Javi Hernandez; Rosier, Oscar, Renato Tapia, Brasanac; Juan Cruz, Dani Raba, Diomande
Unavailable: Barisic (Injured), Adria Altimira (Suspended), Enric Franquesa (Injured), Cisse (Suspended)
Questionable: Nastasic (Injured)
Sevilla vs Leganes Prediction
Sevilla have been lacklustre in attack throughout the campaign and that is once again expected to be the case this time around without key man Lukebakio. That could lead to quite a damning end to the campaign with the pressure growing on the people in the hierarchy of the club. Leganes have been able to fight throughout the season and they have even played well recently, too, and siding with the Madrid-based club may well be a good bet for this one against a Sevilla side that look so devoid of any cohesion at both ends of the pitch.
Sevilla vs Leganes Tip: Double chance – Leganes to win or draw
