Bath have not started the new season in the way they will have expected and they lost their third game out of four played overall when they were shocked by visiting Scarlets on Saturday. While it was a close-run result at 19-23, it was their second loss at home to a team they should have beat if you include their opening Premiership loss to newly-promoted Newcastle Falcons. A visit to La Rochelle, then is not likely to be enjoyable. The French Top 14 leaders overcame a solid Edinburgh defence to win their first match 8-13 but they should be able to loosen the shackles here. Bath’s poor form means La Rochelle could be reasonably picked to cover -10, if not -15 at home.
