THE PREDICTION
This could be the clash of the weekend in the Top 14 between two French giants at polar opposite ends of the table on current form. Hosts Clermont are a wounded animal after suffering a third loss from four matches played, although a 27-15 loss at Toulouse is essentially par for the course right now against the impeccable champions. They did beat last season’s runners-up La Rochelle at home in the previous week and that offers a reasonable glimmer of hope here against travelling Racing 92, who lost their last away game at newly-promoted Biarritz. Still, three wins from four for the Parisian side makes this look a tough result to call. In a scoreline that could be decided by just the odd point, taking the hosts to win outright seems a suitably cautious option. Racing 92 +2 seems a reasonable alternative.
