World number two Luke Humphries begins his quest for a second World Grand Prix title, having won the event in 2023 and then losing in the final in each of the last two years.
Still looking for a major singles title this year (although he won the World Cup of Darts alongside Luke Littler), Humphries is nevertheless one of the top contenders in Leicester, especially at a tournament he enjoys so much.
Dave Chisnall has slipped down the rankings a fair bit in recent years but he is at least returning to the World Grand Prix after failing to qualify last year. The Englishman is a two-time finalist in this event, although he has only won one match in each of his last three participations.
Humphries is a class apart right now and will be expecting to win this one in straight sets.
