THE PREDICTION
After an excellent unbeaten streak over league and cup, Lyon have now just as fantastically lost two Top 14 matches in a row to lower opposition in Brive and, last time out, Castres. They host Montpellier in this midweek game in-hand over much of the rest of the league now in real need of a performance as their advantage over the top teams has dramatically lessened over the last fortnight but Montpellier are no pushovers. Although the visitors are also on a two-match losing streak in the league, they have lost to the current top two, La Rochelle and Toulouse, in quick succession and their second-from-bottom placing in the league is a false one as they have three games in-hand over most other teams. This could be quite a tetchy, tough midweek fixture given the circumstances and so a home win in a match that comes under 40 points looks a reasonable outcome.
