THE PREDICTION
Leinster lost their first match of the season, default losses aside, when a spirited Connacht travelled to Dublin to pull-off a massive upset. A 24-35 defeat at home to Connacht not only brings plenty of other Pro14 sides back into play for the title but left the reigning champions with plenty of concerning injuries to deal with, not least to talisman Johnny Sexton. An already-depleted Leinster must now bounce back in this truly vital home clash against the Pro14’s only unbeaten side as Ulster made it 10 from 10 against rivals Munster. Despite having two games in-hand over Ulster, this match is certainly the most important of the Pro14 season for Leinster and they are now in a worse exposition for it than the original fixture postponed on Boxing Day. Home advantage is also weakened due to covid-19 and so a Leinster victory looks a very difficult task. It will depend how many players the hosts can bring back in time to face Ulster but the away side look capable of pouncing on their opportunity here for a potentially season-defining win.
