- Huddersfield Giants produced a woeful performance as they failed to defeat an out-of-form Salford Red Devils side who played 47 minutes with just 12 men with being Huddersfield’s second loss in succession.
- That performance added to a long list of underwhelming efforts from the Giants under Ian Watson who is now under pressure to turn his side’s fortunes around and his task has been made harder by only being able to name a 13-man squad, owing to Huddersfield needing clearance from COVID-19 protocols before adding to that figure nearer to the game.

Hull FC found their attacking grove in a big way as they tore Leigh
Centurions apart last week but tougher tests lie in wait for them and
they cannot get carried away by that big success. Hull have been down on
numbers in their last few games but it did not deter them against the
bottom side. However, further big names will be absent here so it will
be down to the rest of their squad to step up. Huddersfield Giants have
been hit with a COVID-19 outbreak and are also light on numbers for this
game, so much so that they could only name a 13-man squad on Wednesday.
They will be able to add to that before the game but they have plenty
of talent missing because of international call-ups too and after
producing a very worrying performance against 12-man Salford Red Devils
last week, they look set for further misery here.
