Parma Preview: Resilient Parma

Fabio Pecchia had done a very impressive job at Parma trying to play an entertaining and progressive style of football but things massively declined and he had to be replaced by former defender and former Romania international Cristian Chivu.

Chivu has been able to implement more of a defensive structure as they attempt to move away from the bottom three and the relegation places. Their most recent outing saw them share a goalless draw with Hellas Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi last weekend.

Inter Milan Preview: Defending the title

Internazionale won their 20th Serie A title and gained the second star upon their badge last season and they now begin the 31st match day of the 2024/25 campaign sitting at the top-of-the-table with a three-point lead over Antonio Conte’s Napoli.

The Nerazzurri have a UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich coming up and are also chasing the treble, having most recently earned themselves a 1-1 draw from behind in the first-leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against arch-rivals AC Milan in midweek.

Parma Team News: Several absentees

Parma are dealing with several absentees for this weekend’s visit of Internazionale with Romania international Valentin Mihaila among those missing alongside the likes of Yordan Osorio and Gabriel Charpentier.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Suzuki; Del Prato, Vogliacco, Valenti, Valeri; Keita; Man, Adrian Bernabe, Sohm, Almqvist; Bonny

Unavailable: Circati (Injured), Yordan Osorio (Injured), Benedyczak (Injured), Charpentier (Injured), Mihaila (Injured), Kowalski (Injured)

Questionable: Cancellieri (Injured)

Inter Milan Team News: Barella suspended

Simone Inzaghi will have to contend with some key issues ahead of the trip to the Ennio Tardini this weekend as Italy international midfielder Nicolo Barella is missing through suspension, whilst Lautaro Martinez remains an injury doubt due to a thigh issue.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Frattesi, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Carlos Augusto; Thuram, Joaquin Correa

Unavailable: Dumfries (Injured), Asllani (Injured), Zielinski (Injured), Barella (Suspended), Carboni (Injured), Taremi (Injured)

Questionable: Lautaro Martinez (Injured)

Parma vs Inter Milan Prediction

Parma have made themselves a lot more difficult to beat and play against, compromising on their generally attacking and entertaining style of football. They now face an Inter side that have some big games coming up but if any team and any coach can effectively grind out performances and results in congested circumstances, it is this Inter side – even without Barella and probably without Lautaro Martinez.

Parma vs Inter Milan Tip: Inter Milan to win & under 3.5 goals
