After a close first game, Pakistan’s top order emphatically decided the second ODI with an awesome display of batting which Sri Lanka’s bowlers had no answer for. The tourists lacked potency and control, failing to take wickets whilst conceding 18 wides in the process as the Pakistan batters filled their boots. Babar Azam stood out with an unbeaten 102 as the hosts completed their run chase of 289 in the 49th over with just two wickets lost.

You can’t help but think that the minds of these Sri Lankan players may be elsewhere following events off the field leading into this match which forced it to be pushed back 24 hours. Pakistan though, were clearly laser focused and their top order looked imperious in the last match. With the series already lost, it’s hard to see Sri Lanka picking themselves up for this finale and it’s well worth backing the hosts to secure a 3-0 sweep.
