Nicolas Jarry vs Joao Fonseca prediction
Nicolas Jarry continued his upturn in form with a comfortable straight sets win over American teenager Learner Tien. It was an incredibly dominant performance from the Chilean, who did not even concede a break point during the match. He has struggled for much of this season and had to qualify for this major, but he’s now into the third-round after wins over Tien and eighth seed Holger Rune.
His opponent will be Joao Fonseca. The Brazilian became the youngest player to make the third-round of Wimbledon since Bernard Tomic in 2011. Fonseca defeated Eastbourne Open finalist Jenson Brooksby 6-4 5-7 6-2 6-4. He didn’t serve as well as he did in the first-round but still produced a solid performance overall.
This could go all the way as Jarry is playing his best tennis of the season, while Fonseca has made such an assured start on his Wimbledon debut. We lean towards the teenager making it through to round four of a major for the first time.
