New Zealand vs Wales prediction
Despite picking up a victory in the first round, it wasn’t enough to send New Zealand through as defeats against both Netherlands and Argentina condemned them to this stage. It was an admittedly tough pool that the Black Sticks got drawn into and they should have much more success in the classification round.
Wales were thrashed 8-2 by British rivals England last time out and are yet to win a game at this World Cup, conceding the most goals of any nation across the first round of pool play with 14 overall. It’s that defensive fragility that should cost them against a good New Zealand side and any outcome other than win for the latter would be a surprise.
