RANDY BROWN VS ELIZEU ZALESKI DOS SANTOS LOWDOWN
Randy Brown (18-5) started 2023 by getting his excellent four-fight win streak snapped. He got submitted by Jack Della Maddalena (2023) at UFC 284 in Perth. However, he bounced back by outpointing Wellington Turman (2023) and then pulled off a ‘Performance of the Night’ with a first-round knockout over Muslim Salikhov (2024) bumping up his UFC record to 12-5.
Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos (24-7-1) got a rare two fights in last year which was great to see. He lost a split decision to Salikhov (2020) but returned 15 months later to put a beating on Benoit Saint-Denis which continues to age well despite the Frenchman stepping up a weight class. He then earnt a split decision over Abubakar Nurmagomedov (2023) and fought to a draw with the prospect Rinat Fakhretdinov (2023).
RANDY BROWN VS ELIZEU ZALESKI DOS SANTOS PREDICTION
This should be a competitive scrap between two exciting strikers. Zaleski dos Santos has every trick in the book and will wheel off an array of kicks. Brown is more conventional and will look to leverage his five-inch reach advantage.
Brown stands at 6’3” and uses his range very well. He will look to keep the distance with kicks and solid boxing fundamentals. The Brazilian will try and close the distance with his movement and flashy kicks. He is very dynamic with deceptive power and cardio.
He is also a lot more dangerous on the deck, but that will count for nothing if he cannot close the distance without getting tagged. We are backing Brown to stick to a game plan of keeping the distance which will frustrate Zaleski dos Santos and create openings, but this is tough to call.
Prediction: Brown via Decision
Value Bet: Zaleski dos Santos to win
