MILES JOHNS VS DAN ARGUETA LOWDOWN
Miles Johns (13-2) appears for the first time this year after a couple bouts in 2022. He was coming off two ‘Performance of the Night’ displays and third-round knockouts over Kevin Natividad (2020) and Anderson dos Santos (2021). However, John Castaneda stopped him in his tracks with a submission. He then took on Vince Morales nine months later and bounced back with a unanimous decision.
A premature stoppage at UFC on ESPN 47 halted some momentum for Dan Argueta (9-1(1)). He suffered his first loss on his UFC debut getting outpointed by Damon Jackson (2022) but responded with a comfortable unanimous decision of his own over Nick Aguirre (2023). He then took on Ronnie Lawrence in June and seemingly submitted him, but the replay did not show any tap forcing a ‘no contest’.
MILES JOHNS VS DAN ARGUETA PREDICTION
Johns has fallen in love with his hands, but he will need to be brushing up on his wrestling as Argueta will be looking to chain his takedowns together. He will look to close the distance as soon as possible, take him down and smothering Johns for three rounds.
Johns will make Argueta work very hard as he has a background in wrestling with quality takedown defence. He will look to create space to unleash his hands. However, we feel Argueta will be able to close the distance before he gets any shots off and secure at least one takedown per round and assume enough control to convince the judges.
