MAHESHATE HAYISAER VS VIACHESLAV BORSHCHEV LOWDOWN
The Chinese sensation Maheshate Hayisaer (9-2) finally got stopped in his tracks in December last year. He made his UFC debut after outpointing Achilles Estremadura (2021) on the Contender Series and arrived with a bang starching Steve Garcia (2022) in the first round. He then met Rafa Garcia who snapped the seven-fight win streak with a unanimous decision.
Viacheslav Borshchev (6-3) is coming off two unanimous decision losses. He also punched his UFC ticket on the Contender Series knocking out Chris Duncan (2021). He followed that up with a beautiful liver punch ending Dakota Bush’s night in the first round. However, Marc Diakiese (2022) and Mike Davis (2022) have left him staring at a three-fight skid.
MAHESHATE HAYISAER VS VIACHESLAV BORSHCHEV PREDICTION
This is going to be fireworks between two exciting and talented strikers. Their takedown defence is the glaring hole in each other’s game so they will both relish to prospect of trading leather.
Borshchev is a brilliant kickboxer with an array of kicks and Maheshate possesses some serious power so their defence will be tested. On paper, Borshchev should take this. He has better technique and a wealth of striking experience. If he starts to land, do not be surprised if Maheshate shoots in for a takedown.
However, we expect him to back his power and search for the knockout which will play into Borshchev hands. This can fall either way, but we are backing the kickboxer to inflict the early damage with his jab and unleash flashy kicks once he grasps the range.
While Maheshate is the underdog, he is the value pick, but we are leaning towards Borshchev.
