Brady Hiestand (7-2) has not been very active only fighting twice since his debut in 2021. That was a split decision loss to Ricky Turcios on The Ultimate Fighter 29 finale. After falling short on the trophy, he has responded well by earning a unanimous decision over Fernie Garcia (2022) and TKO over Batgerel Danaa (2023) at UFC Fight Night 222.

Garrett Armfield (10-3) is also coming off his first two UFC dubs. He lost his debut at UFC on ESPN 39 to David Onama (2022) who wrapped him up in an arm triangle. However, he bounced back with a clinical first-round TKO over Toshiomi Kazama (2023) and unanimous decision over Brad Katona (2024).

Expect Hiestand to try and enforce a suffocating pressure with high volume striking while mixing in takedowns. His cardio is improving and is a similar fighter to Katona which makes this very interesting.

Armfield got taken down four times by Katona, but his output on the feet was enough to convince the judges. He is the better striker and will be confident that his stand-up skills will be enough despite the wrestling threat.

Hiestand is improving more rapidly, but if he does not stick to his wrestling, Armfield could run away with his striking. He is more technical and his composure should allow him to control the exchanges. We back him to earn a decision with Heestand’s toughness taking this to the wire, but as the underdog, he is a very tempting play.

Prediction: Armfield via Decision

Value Bet: Hiestand to win
