Miomir Kecmanovic reached the third-round at Wimbledon for the second successive year and the third time in four years after beating Jesper de Jong in four sets. Kecmanovic made a poor start but soon found his footing and won 1-6 6-3 6-2 6-4. The Serbian lost in the first-round of both his warmup events on grass but has come back into form at the right time.
He now takes on compatriot Novak Djokovic in the next stage of the tournament. The 24-time Grand Slam champion sent out a warning sign to his rivals as he thrashed Dan Evans 6-3 6-2 6-0. It was a truly dominant performance from Djokovic, who faced just two break points and committed only 14 unforced errors.
Djokovic leads the head-to-head 3-0 and 1-0 on grass. They played each other at the same stage of Wimbledon three years ago, with Djokovic cruising to a 6-0 6-3 6-4 victory on his way to a seventh title at SW19. If he puts in a similar display as he managed against Evans, it’s likely to be another dominant win for the former world number one.
