Mallorca Preview: Steady Majorcans

Coached by former Osasuna boss Jago Arrasate, Real Mallorca have adapted their style of football to being less direct but they have perhaps still lacked a coherent and consistent goal threat in the final third, albeit they are still chasing European qualification.

That push for potential European qualification was reignited last weekend as the Balearic Islanders defeated Real Sociedad by two goals to nil in the Basque Country last weekend courtesy of goals from Cyle Larin and Sergi Darder.

Leganes Preview: Lega fighting

Leganes have put in some impressive and entertaining performances of late but the visitors do still begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting firmly in the bottom three and the relegation places after a five-match winless run of form.

They enjoyed one of their more impressive and resilient performances once again last weekend but once again they suffered another defeat as they were beaten by league leaders Barcelona by a goal to nil at Butarque last weekend.

Mallorca Team News: Muriqi still out

Kosovo international striker Vedat Muriqi remains Mallorca’s most influential goal scoring threat but he remains sidelined for the hosts due to a hamstring injury alongside both Manu Morlanes and Robert Navarro, whilst Takuma Asano also deals with a hamstring issue.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Greif; Pablo Maffeo, Valjent, Copete, Johan Mojica; Omar Mascarell, Costa; Valery, Dani Rodriguez, Sergi Darder; Larin

Unavailable: Manu Morlanes (Injured), Robert Navarro (Injured), Muriqi (Injured)

Questionable: Asano (Injured)

Leganes Team News: Dani Raba suspended

Former midfielder Dani Raba is missing through suspension for this weekend’s trip to Son Moix and that is a key absence as he has been excellent this year. The likes of Borna Barisic and Matija Nastasic are also injury issues for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-5-1): Dmitrovic; Rosier, Jorge Saenz, Sergio, Javi Hernandez; Altimira, Oscar, Renato Tapia, Cisse, Diomande; Miguel de la Fuente

Unavailable: Barisic (Injured), Enric Franquesa (Injured), Dani Raba (Suspended)

Questionable: Nastasic (Injured)

Mallorca vs Leganes Prediction

Real Mallorca already had the foundations in place from now Mexico boss Javier Aguirre as they attempt to become more proactive in the final third. They haven’t been overly enjoyable to watch from a neutral perspective but they remain in the hunt for Europe. They face a Leganes side that have been admirable throughout the campaign but they do appear now destined for an immediate return to the second-tier.

Mallorca vs Leganes Tip: Mallorca to win & under 3.5 goals
