Lecce preview: Steady in Apulia
Under the management of former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco, Lecce are the tool being used to prove himself once again after reasonably unfortunate but predictable relegations while in charge of both Frosinone and Venezia in the last couple of seasons.
The hosts have been steady and difficult to play against in the last couple of months as they come into this one on the back of a steady 1-1 draw with Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, having taken the lead against the Bianconeri.
Roma preview: Out of the top four
Over the summer, Roma pulled off the surprisingly impressive appointment of former Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini and the Giallorossi started well but the Romans have struggled in the last couple of months with very little attacking fluency.
They have now suffered three defeats in their last five matches in Serie A with a 1-0 defeat to Gasperini’s former side in Bergamo at the weekend, with defender Giorgio Scalvini scoring a 12th minute winner at the Gewiss Stadium.
Lecce team news: AFCON ins and outs
Lassana Coulibaly and Hamza Rafia remain at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, but both Kialonda Gaspar and Lameck Banda have returned back to their club after their involvement in the tournament.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Matias Perez, Gaspar, Tiago Gabriel, Gallo; Kaba, Ramadani; Pierotti, Maleh, Banda; Camarda

Questionable: Veiga (Illness)
Roma team news: A few issues
Evan Ndicka and Neil El Aynaoui are key absentees for the Romans this week as they remain away at AFCON, while Wesley and Matias Soule are key injury doubts, too.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mancini, Ziolkowski, Mario Hermoso; Celik, Cristante, Kone, Rensch; El Shaarawy, Dybala; Ferguson
Unavailable: Ndicka (International duty), Pellegrini (Injured), El Aynaoui (International duty), Bove (Illness), Bailey (Injured)
Questionable: Wesley (Injured), Baldanzi (Injured), Matias Soule (Injured)
Lecce vs Roma prediction
Lecce come into this one on the back of some steady form of late. The Apulia-based outfit have had mixed results of late with just three defeats in their last eight matches in Serie A. They now face a Roma side that have lacked fluency in the final third throughout the campaign, which is especially surprising given the way in which Gasperini sides often intend to play. Roma remain favourites but another low-scoring encounter is to be expected at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare.
