A damaging six-wicket defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Wednesday leaves Kolkata Knight Riders likely needing to win all of their remaining games to stand a chance of play-off qualification. They currently sit on nine points with only three league stage matches left to play including this one. It won’t be easy either, with high-flying Gujarat Titans on the menu.

The Titans have proven somewhat of a steam-train recently, winning each of their last five to put themselves on the brink of sealing a top four finish. Victory at Eden Gardens would likely ensure them of that, allowing Gujarat to then focus on finishing top of the table. Their performance levels have been so high and they are not just winning games, but dominating opponents. It would be a surprise if they didn’t overwhelm KKR.
