Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic prediction

Jannik Sinner reached his 10th Grand Slam semi-final after a straight sets win over Jan-Lennard Struff. Sinner was challenged by Struff and had to save a set point in the second set, but he still claimed a 7-5 7-6 (4) 6-3 victory. The 24-year-old now has an impressive win-loss record of 25-4 at the All England Club.

He will face seven-time champion Novak Djokovic in the last four. Djokovic defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in a dramatic five set match on Centre Court. The Serb squandered a break advantage in the fourth set as Auger-Aliassime fought back, but he kept his cool in the deciding set tiebreak to seal a 7-6 (9) 3-6 6-3 6-7 (4) 7-6 (4) win after five hours and 15 minutes. This was the longest Wimbledon quarter-final in the tournament’s history.

Sinner leads the head-to-head 5-4, but Djokovic is ahead 2-1 on grass. They have met at Wimbledon on three previous occasions, with Djokovic prevailing in 2022 and 2023, while Sinner won their semi-final match last year in straight sets. Their last match was a dramatic affair in the last four of the Australian Open earlier this year, as Djokovic won in five sets.

Sinner has not been at his absolute best so far, and Djokovic will be fully aware that this could represent his best chance of going on to win a 25th Grand Slam title. However, it’s difficult to see the 39-year-old repeating his quarter-final heroics against the world number one.
