Ireland vs Scotland prediction
Ireland never lost a first-round game by more than one goal, which underlines how competitive they were against difficult opposition. They also scored at least once in all three matches, with a thrilling 2-3 win over New Zealand sandwiched between a 3-2 loss to Spain and a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Belgium. In the end, they were extremely unlikely not to reach the second round.
Scotland on the other hand, were beaten three times in a row, scored two goals in a valiant effort against USA but were shut out twice otherwise by Germany and Argentina respectively. Ireland have been playing better hockey from an attacking perspective and are worth backing to overpower the Scottish defence, laying the foundations for victory.
