THE PREDICTION

Some excellent horses have come out of the Mares’ Hurdle over the years but with some big hitters moving on to bigger things, there is an opportunity for a new star to come to the forefront this year. Henry de Bromhead’s Honeysuckle was arguably the last superstar to compete in the race and he will hope he has another promising sort on his hands in the form of Telmesomethinggirl. He will be looking for a quick-fire double with Honeysuckle going off favourite in the Champion Hurdle beforehand and with Rachael Blackmore on board, it would not be a surprise if the striking winner of the Dawn Run at last year’s Festival could get the job done here.

Tip: Telmesomethinggirl (10/3)
