Patrik Schick has put in good performances at UEFA European Championships in the past but now he makes his first appearance at a FIFA World Cup. The Bayer Leverkusen striker backed up a 21-goal season in the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign by hitting 16 goals in an injury-affected campaign last year. The Czechia forward will be relied upon for quality and efficiency in the final third for an obdurate and defensive-minded Miroslav Koubek-coached side. After four goals in the group stages of qualification, he scored a crucial one to get Czechia back into a game that they were 2-0 down in against Republic of Ireland, eventually defeating the Irish on penalties in their UEFA playoff semi-final back in March.
