They were really unlucky not to progress through to the second round but have taken their good form into the classification round with an entertaining 7-4 victory over Malaysia. Their offence is firing on all cylinders right now.
In contrast, France were defeated 3-1 by South Africa last time out and their fragile defence feels like it's there for an Irish side full of confidence to exploit. When taking this into account, backing Ireland to make it three wins at this World Cup feels like a smart play.
