THE LOWDOWN

SEVILLA

For a second successive season, Sevilla have had to use up three managers in order to steer themselves clear of the bottom three and the relegation places. The Andalusians burned through both Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso with Quique Sanchez Flores also being under a lot of pressure but things have finally turned themselves around.

The former Watford boss oversaw his Sevilla side share a 1-1 draw with Real Betis at El Gran Derbi at the Benito Villamarin last weekend, meaning that Sevilla have now suffered just two defeats in their last 12 matches in La Liga. They have lots of problems to deal with this summer but have eased themselves away from the danger zone.

GRANADA

Granada have delayed what remains the inevitable with some recent improved performances and results since the appointment of Jose Ramon Sandoval. They have collected seven points from their last three matches to stave off relegation being mathematically confirmed for now as they remain ten points adrift of safety with five games to go.

Their most recent outing saw them dispatch of mid-table Osasuna by three goals to nil in their most recent outing, last weekend. Facundo Pellistri notched in the 28th minute before Albania international Myrto Uzuni scored just after half-time and then former Reading man Lucas Boye wrapped up the win in second-half stoppage-time.

THE PREDICTION

A few months ago, this Andalusian derby looked like it could be absolutely essential in determining the outcome of the bottom three and the relegation places. Now, though, Sevilla have comfortably eased themselves clear, whilst Granada are playing with a little bit of freedom as they await their fate to be mathematically confirmed. Sevilla, despite an improvement in results, remain in a bit of a mess and siding with the improving Granada might be very good value here.

TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE – GRANADA TO WIN OR DRAW
