SEVILLA PREVIEW: CONCERNS OFF THE PITCH

According to reports in Spain this week, it appears that Sevilla have missed out on Osasuna manager Jago Arrasate with the likelihood being that he goes to Real Mallorca. That is perhaps a sign of the goings on behind the scenes with the pressure very much on Sporting Director Vitor Orta as the Andalusian giants once again languish in the bottom-half of La Liga.

Like last season, it took three managers during this campaign for Sevilla to finally pull themselves away from the relegation battle with Quique Sanchez Flores eventually steadying the ship after the sackings of both Diego Alonso and Jose Luis Mendilibar. However, their results have once again deteriorated and they come into this one on the back of three successive defeats.

BARCELONA PREVIEW: UNCERTAINTY OFF THE PITCH

After winning the title last season, it was only mid-January this year when Xavi Hernandez announced he would depart Barcelona at the end of this season after a 5-3 loss at home to Villarreal. The Blaugrana then went on an impressive run of form and, with financial issues still remaining, a u-turn was announced whereby Xavi would remain.

Now, though, after a reported fall out with president Joan Laporta, it appears that the former Al Sadd coach may indeed still go this summer. On the pitch, Barcelona are just getting themselves through to the end of an underwhelming season but do come into this one on the back of a convincing 3-0 hammering of struggling Rayo Vallecano last week.

SEVILLA TEAM NEWS: SEVERAL INJURY ISSUES

SEVILLA VS BARCELONA PREDICTION

We have two of what many would suggest are Spain’s big five or at least big six clubs here at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. However, both of them are heading into a summer full of financial uncertainty that has disrupted the institutions both on and off the pitch. Sevilla, even when their form suggested they were back among the best teams in Spain this spring, were not playing well, whereas at least Barcelona have experience and levels of quality to see them through the vast majority of their underperformances.

SEVILLA VS BARCELONA TIP: BARCELONA TO WIN & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
