THE LOWDOWN

ALMERIA

Alongside the likes of Sheffield United in England, Serie A’s Salernitana and Clermont down at the bottom-of-the-table in France; Almeria are one of the teams simply awaiting their relegation to the second-tier to be mathematically confirmed as they begin the ‘run-in’ sitting 14 points adrift of safety.

The Andalusians come into this one, though, on the back of their very first win of the campaign a couple of weeks ago before the March international break. They went to the Canary Islands and defeated a European-chasing Las Palmas side by a goal to nil with a 14th minute winning goal scored by Leo Baptistao.

OSASUNA

Osasuna went into the two-week break on the back of back-to-back losses against two of the top three teams in La Liga with a 2-0 loss to Girona being followed up by a 4-2 defeat to champions-elect Real Madrid. Jago Arrasate has come under pressure at times this season but they have very much steadied the ship as they try and push for a top-half finish.

The Pamplona-based club have endured a generally underwhelming campaign after a seventh placed finish and UEFA Europa Conference League qualification last season, as well as reaching the final of the Copa del Rey. Prior to those aforementioned two defeats, though, they were unbeaten in four matches.

THE TEAM NEWS

ALMERIA

Almeria are without Ibrahima Kone for this weekend’s clash against Osasuna, whilst attacker Luis Suarez remains a doubt for this one, too.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Maximiano; Pubill, Montes, Radovanovic, Centelles; Lopy, Edgar Gonzalez; Romero, Viera, Embarba; Lozano

UNAVAILABLE: Kone (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Suarez (Injured)

OSASUNA

Osasuna will be without Lucas Torro, due to suspension, whilst the likes of David Garcia, Unai Garcia and forward, Kike Barja, are unavailable with injuries.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Herrera; U. Garcia, Catena, Herrando; Areso, Moncayola, R. Garcia, Gomez, Mojica; Jose, Budimir

UNAVAILABLE: Torro (Suspended), U. Garcia (Injured), David Garcia (Injured), Barja (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

Almeria did manage their first victory of the campaign in their most recent outing and they have been a lot better than their poor results have suggested but the fact remains they will go down as one of the worst top-flight teams in history. Osasuna will want to arrest their recent slide, albeit those two defeats did come against two of the strongest teams in the country. It should be a given that you should back against Almeria, even if they did get that win.

TIP: OSASUNA TO WIN
