THE PREDICTION

An immediate rematch of last week’s 0-1 victory for Santa Clara away to Vitoria Guimaraes in the Taca de Portugal looks like it could be a tight game as the hosts look to leapfrog their opponents in the table now too. Recently in the Primeira Liga, Vitoria have taken care of the lower-ranked teams well but lost to the likes of Sporting Braga and Sporting Lisbon to sit in a comfortable fifth-place at the time of writing. The same can be said for Santa Clara, three points behind their visitors here after beating Nacional 1-3 away from home last time out. A win apiece and a draw in their three matches played this year leaves little room for interpretation there and it seems the two are rather well-matched coming into this. The revenge motive for Vitoria, whose strongest form has been in the league, suggests that draw no bet in favour of the visitors looks a wise move here especially as they are unbeaten away from home this season. You could add less than 2.5 goals scored for value, as has happened in three of Santa Clara’s four home games this season.
