THE LOWDOWN

TORINO

Former Hellas Verona boss Ivan Juric has produced a Torino side that are generally underwhelming and unconvincing with the intention to implement a progressive and forward thinking style of football but they have been low-scoring and difficult to watch for some time now as they sit ensconced firmly in the middle-of-the-table.

The Piedmont-based club come into this one on the back of a 3-2 defeat away to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico with Argentinian forward Paulo Dybala notching a hat-trick for the Giallorossi. That loss to the Romans backed up a 2-0 defeat at home to another capital city side, Lazio, just a few days beforehand.

FIORENTINA

After reaching the finals of both the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, Fiorentina would have had to have done very well to ensure they enjoyed a similarly impressive campaign under the management of Vincenzo Italiano and it did appear like that would be the case but it no longer does seem like that will be the case.

I Viola come into this one on the back of a 2-1 win over Lazio in their most recent outing, last week, coming from behind to earn a much-needed victory with second-half goals from Michael Kayode and Giacomo Bonaventura. That victory is just their second win in ten matches inside 90 minutes across all competitions.

THE PREDICTION

In 26 matches so far this season, Torino have managed to score just 25 goals with 25 conceded. That is an average of fewer than two goals per game involving Torino this season and yet they remain in the top-half of the table ahead of this weekend. Fiorentina were a lot more fluent and free flowing last season but have tended to be a little stodgy this season and that might occur again when they start their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie against Maccabi Haifa in midweek. A low-scoring encounter is to be expected for this one in Turin.
