Former Empoli boss Alessio Dionisi was in charge of a Sassuolo side that had been underperforming for quite some time before then being replaced by Davide Ballardini in late-February. Performances and results have not improved, though, as they languish firmly in the bottom three and the relegation places in Serie A.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 5-1 hammering at the hands of Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi last weekend. Riccardo Sottil opened the scoring for the underperforming hosts after 17 minutes before Lucas Martinez Quarta made it two in the second-half. Kristian Thorstvedt brought Sassuolo back into it before Nicolas Gonzalez and Antonin Barak ran riot for Fiorentina.
INTER MILAN
A couple of weeks ago, Internazionale were finally crowned champions of Serie A after a magnificent campaign. They defeated AC Milan at San Siro in the Derby della Madonnina by two goals to one to win their 20th Scudetto and earn their second star upon their badge. Their next goal is to become centurions.
The Nerazzurri followed up that 2-1 defeat of Milan by comfortably defeating Torino by two goals to nil last weekend. Adrien Tameze was sent off for Torino in the 49th minute before Inter clinched victory with a second-half brace from Hakan Calhanoglu. They are 11 points off 100 with 12 points to play for.

Marcus Pedersen is a doubt for this weekend with Ruan out suspended, whilst the likes of Domenico Berardi, Samu Castllejo and Gregoire Defrel are all sidelined through injury.

Sassuolo have significantly underperformed but it has to be said that the timing of key injuries to the likes of Domenico Berardi and Gregoire Defrel have really hampered their attempts to avoid the drop. Inter Milan are not quite done with their season. Reaching 100 points will be something very special for Inzaghi and Inter with only Juventus having managed to achieve that feat in the past. Another comfortable Inter win is to be expected against a hapless Sassuolo side.
