Hellas Verona should really be heading into the final day in serious danger of the drop but they have eased themselves away as they welcome the champions to the Bentegodi.

HELLAS VERONA PREVIEW: EARLY CELEBRATIONS

Marco Baroni took the decision to leave Lecce for Hellas Verona, who had just survived a relegation playoff against Spezia, last summer and it seemed an inspired decision with back-to-back victories to kick off the season. The only other time Verona had managed that in Serie A, they went on to win their only Scudetto.

This time, though, they immediately embarked upon a 14-match winless run of form that saw them battling relegation for much of the rest of the campaign but they have finally come through that and are actually finishing quite strongly. Their 2-1 defeat of bottom-of-the-table Salernitana last weekend means they have suffered just nine defeats in their final 21 matches.

INTER MILAN PREVIEW: REFLECTING ON DOMINANCE

Internazionale have been magnificent. Their only frustration will be that a side that has been this good severely underperformed in Europe, getting knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the Round of 16 stage by Atletico Madrid, despite having a 2-0 aggregate lead with just an hour to go in that tie.

The Nerazzurri have romped their way to the title and won it in famous circumstances last month, defeating AC Milan by two goals to one in the Derby della Madonnina at San Siro. They have missed out on becoming centurions with some relatively sticky form since winning the title but have remained a genuinely excellent watch.

HELLAS VERONA TEAM NEWS: ATTACKING DUO SUSPENDED

For, quite remarkably, the third time this season, Hellas Verona’s forward Thomas Henry is missing this weekend’s clash with Inter through a suspension. He will be joined on the sidelines by former Norwich City attacker Ondrej Duda.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Montipo; Centonze, Magnani, Coppola, Cabal; Dawidowicz, Serdar; Lazovic, Folorunsho, Noslin; Bonazzoli

UNAVAILABLE: Henry (Suspended), Duda (Suspended), Cruz (Injured)

INTER MILAN TEAM NEWS: NOTHING OF CONCERN

Simone Inzaghi has been fairly fortunate throughout the campaign in terms of injuries and suspensions and that is no different on the final day. The big question will be just how gung-ho the former Lazio boss chooses to go to flex their muscles.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez

HELLAS VERONA VS INTER MILAN PREDICTION

This is one of the few games that has very little riding on it in Serie A this weekend with Hellas Verona secure of their status in the top-flight next season and Inter’s players ready to get on their holidays or off to either the CONMEBOL Copa America or UEFA EURO 2024. Caution will likely be the aim of the game in order to ensure no risk of injury so, in what may be a motivational stalemate, the better team should prevail.

HELLAS VERONA VS INTER MILAN TIP: INTER TO WIN -1 HANDICAP
