THE PREDICTION
Over the past few years, Qatar have benefitted by being welcomed by confederations across the world. They have played in the CONMEBOL Copa America as well as the CONCACAF Gold Cup before acting as the ‘sixth team’ in a five-team UEFA qualifying group in 2021. The Qatari’s, though, have struggled to continue some good form in those previous competitions and Felix Sanchez’s side, as they prepare to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, are winless in their last eight matches, conceding 21 goals and scoring just four. Bulgaria come into this on the back of being hammered 4-0 by Switzerland in their final qualifying group match for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Bulgarians have improved since the summer, though, with a 1-1 draw against Italy forming part of a run of form whereby they have lost just two of their last seven matches. Despite being away from home, Bulgaria will come into this as the slight favourites.
