THE LOWDOWN

BAYERN MUNICH

Bayern Munich are now unbeaten in their last five in all competitions after they got the better of Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League during the week.

That success came on the back of a draw with Bayer Leverkusen in their prior outing, the first time that they have dropped points in the Bundesliga so far this season and they will be eager to make an immediate return to winning ways domestically.

BOCHUM

Bochum made it three successive draws as they played out a stalemate with Eintracht Frankfurt. It is four games without a win for Bochum and that record could worsen here as they make the trip to take on the reigning Bundesliga champions.

They had real issues on the road last season and they come into this with no win in their last six league games away from home. In fact, they have won just one of their last 11 on their travels and the Allianz Arena is not the place to improve on that run.

THE TEAM NEWS

BAYERN MUNICH

Bayern’s injury is very manageable at present with only a couple of players sidelined. One of those is first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer who they will hope is not too far away from making his return having been out since December of last year while Raphael Guerreiro is a doubt for this contest.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Ulreich; Mazraoui, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Sane, Musiala, Coman; Kane

UNAVAILABLE: Buchmann (Injured), Neuer (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Guerreiro (Injured)

BOCHUM

Bochum’s injury woes are much worse and they come into this with a handful of players who will be unavailable. Jordi Osei-Tutu has now missed three games but is edging closer to fitness and could return to the squad for this one.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Riemann; Mašović, Ordets, Bernardo; Passlack, Bero, Losilla, Stöger, Wittek; Asano, Hofmann

UNAVAILABLE: Esser (Injured), Kwarteng (Injured), Mousset (Injured), Pannewig (Injured), Schlotterbeck (Injured), Tolba (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Osei-Tutu (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Bayern Munich have scored at least two goals in each of their last five matches in all competitions and their impressive firepower is likely to call Bochum all kinds of problems. The visitors do not travel well and are also without a win in their last four matches so expect the home side to run out comfortable winners in this encounter.

TIP: Bayern Munich -1
