THE PREDICTION
Stuttgart’s results have been mixed in recent months but they have been steadily picking up points and sit comfortably in mid-table. Having fared well on the road but struggled at home in the early part of the season, the tables have turned somewhat. Pellegrino Matarazzo’s men have lost just one of their last five home league matches, and they have a striker in form in Sasa Kalajdzic, who has bagged five goals in four games. As for Schalke, relegation is looking increasingly inevitable, not least after last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund. On top of that, injuries are piling up again, with both main goalkeepers among Christian Gross’ lengthy absentee list. The Royal Blues have not won away from home in the league all season and have scored just twice in their last five away outings in all competitions, so it would not be a surprise if Stuttgart were to win to nil.
