THE PREDICTION
After going four league games without a win in December, Borussia Monchengladbach have made a strong start to the new year, following up their 1-0 win in Bielefeld with an impressive 3-2 victory at home to champions Bayern Munich last Friday. Coach Marco Rose does have injury concerns over a couple of important players, but his team offers goals all over the pitch. Stuttgart, meanwhile, thrashed Augsburg 4-1 last Sunday to claim their first win in four league games, but they remain without a victory on home soil this season. Their energetic, counter-attacking style seems to work better on the road than it does at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, where Pellegrino Matarazzo’s men have lost three and drawn four. With the confidence from that win over Bayern, Gladbach have to be fancied here.
