THE PREDICTION

Mainz have lost their last three meetings with RB Leipzig by an aggregate score of 16-1, and the odds are stacked against them again this time. The second-from-bottom 05ers are winless in nine league matches and have won just once all season. They have not even scored a Bundesliga goal at home since November, and their cause has not been helped by top scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta’s move to Crystal Palace this week - only one other player in the squad has been on the scoresheet more than once for Mainz this season. They are now up against the meanest defence in the division in RB Leipzig, who have kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven league outings. Julian Nagelsmann’s side rarely suffer shock defeats and their defence should not have too much trouble here, so this looks like an ideal fixture for a Win To Nil bet.
