THE PREDICTION

This is a meeting between two mid-table sides who have arguably exceeded expectations this season and still harbour hopes of finishing in the European places. Freiburg’s form over the last few months has been impressive, particularly at the Schwarzwald-Stadion where they have won five and drawn two of their last seven league matches. Union Berlin, on the other hand, are in their worst spell of the campaign having taken just two points from their last five games and scored only two goals. They have also lost their last three on the road so despite just one point separating the two teams, form and home advantage clearly favour Freiburg.
