THE PREDICTION

Back-to-back 2-0 wins over struggling Bielefeld and Schalke have put Freiburg in a more comfortable, mid-table position going into the New Year, while Hertha BSC have lost just one of their last seven Bundesliga matches. Both teams, under experienced coaches, have improved defensively in recent weeks, with Freiburg recording their first two clean sheets of the campaign and Hertha conceding just two goals in their last four games. Recent meetings between the two have also been fairly low-scoring affairs, with none of the last nine producing more than three goals, so this could well be a similar story with neither team under huge pressure to win this one.
