THE PREDICTION
Borussia Dortmund actually lost in this fixture at the end of last season but they have won four of their five games under coach Edin Terzic, including a big 3-1 victory at second-placed RB Leipzig last Saturday. Star striker Erling Haaland was back on the scoresheet following his return from injury, while Jadon Sancho’s form also continues to improve, with a goal and an assist in each of the last two games. The Mainz defence are therefore in for a long afternoon, especially given the lack of goals at the other end. The 05ers, who slipped to the bottom following last Saturday’s defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, have failed to score in four of their last five league games, so expect Dortmund to win comfortably.
