THE PREDICTION

This has probably been the toughest week of Hansi Flick’s tenure as Bayern coach. After suffering their first defeat in 13 Bundesliga games at Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday, the champions were knocked out of the DFB Cup on penalties by second-division side Holstein Kiel on Wednesday. Freiburg are probably one of the last teams they want to face right now, as Christian Streich’s men are top of the Bundesliga form table having won their last five games, scoring 16 goals in the process. That said, Bayern remain a formidable force at the Allianz Arena, where they are unbeaten in 17 league games and have never lost to Freiburg. Expect the hosts to come out fighting here after those two defeats, with a win and over 2.5 goals looking like a safe bet.
