THE PREDICTION
Bayer Leverkusen will be hoping that last Saturday’s convincing 5-2 win over Stuttgart signals a change of fortunes following six defeats in their previous nine games in all competitions. Their home record this season remains impressive, with their only two defeats coming against Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, although they have only recorded one league clean sheet at the BayArena. On paper, they should beat second-from-bottom Mainz comfortably but the visitors have more than doubled their points tally since Bo Svensson was appointed coach at the start of the year, thanks to some impressive results. They still just have the one Bundesliga away win to their name but having beaten RB Leipzig three weeks ago, the 05ers will not be afraid to have a go here and it would not be a surprise if they at least managed to score.
