THE PREDICTION

Wurzburger Kickers coach Bernhard Trares has described this match between the bottom two as a “final”. His side go into it four points adrift at the foot of the Bundesliga 2 standings after going down to their fifth successive defeat on Saturday. Trares does at least have a full squad at his disposal, including three new signings - two of whom are expected to make their debuts on Wednesday night. Kickers have been scoring goals lately and they have only lost by the odd goal in most of their matches, but the fact is they have the joint-worst defence in the division. St. Pauli are in equally dire straits and have not managed a clean sheet all season, but they have found the net in five of their seven away outings this season. With both teams desperate to win this one, expect both to score.
