St. Pauli’s long winless run finally ended last Saturday courtesy of a last-minute 3-2 victory at Hannover 96. It was their first win in the league since September but they will need a few more if they are going to avoid relegation. That followed two draws so there are some encouraging signs for the Hamburg club, although they are yet to go more than three games unbeaten this term. Jahn Regensburg were also winners last time out after five games without victory but they have won just one of their seven away league matches this season, drawing three. St. Pauli have recorded more draws than anyone in Bundesliga 2, and they may well have to settle for a share of the spoils again.
