HANNOVER 96
- Hannover 96 were left frustrated in their attempt to make it three straight wins in Bundesliga 2 as they were beaten in an entertaining contest against Darmstadt 98 at the weekend.
- Hannover trailed at the break but went ahead thanks to strikes from in-form pair Edgar Prib and Marvin Ducksch, although that lead did not last long and they were beaten by a late strike from Darmstadt.
- They will be annoyed that they did not take a point away from that contest and will be eager to respond but they could be without Genki Haraguchi and Philipp Ochs who both suffered knocks against Darmstadt.
ST. PAULI
- St. Pauli were able to end a disappointing run of form by claiming their first win in five matches as they saw off Erzebirge Aue on Sunday and will hope to build on that as they face Hannover 96.
- A solid first half for St. Pauli did the job for them as goals from Dimitrios Diamantakos and Henk Veerman gave them a two-goal lead and despite Aue pulling one back in the final 20 minutes, the hosts were able to hold on.
- It would have been a more comfortable ending had Diamantakos converted from the spot on the stroke of half-time but it did not matter and St. Pauli are unlikely to make many changes to their side here, although Christian Viet is doubtful.
THE PREDICTION
Hannover 96 suffered a late blow in their game with Darmstadt 98 at the weekend as they conceded in the 90th
minute to let slip the point they thought was theirs. They will look to
respond as they host a St. Pauli side that won for the first time in
five matches on Sunday. The visitors will feel that win was enough to
keep their retain their place in Bundesliga 2 but they are not out of
the woods yet and having won just once on the road this season, Hannover
should be able to come out on top.
