Alongside Lorient, Strasbourg have been the subject to lots of off-field supporter protestations as a result of their American-led takeover that has made them a feeder club to Chelsea in the Premier League. The appointment of Patrick Vieira has left Strasbourg in limbo because there is a belief they can reach a high under him but have been extremely underwhelming this season.
With four games of the 2023/24 French top-flight campaign to go, Strasbourg are in the bottom-half of the table but more or less comfortably clear of the bottom three and the danger zone. Their 1-0 defeat to Lille in their most recent outing last weekend ended a much-improved four-match unbeaten run of form.
NICE
After the surprising appointment of the inexperienced Francesco Farioli in the summer, Nice enjoyed a remarkably impressive start to this season before sliding away quite significantly due to a lack of attacking threat that has blighted them throughout the campaign. The southerners have scored just 33 goals in their 30 matches.
They come into this one on the back of a thrilling 2-2 draw in the Derby de la Meditteranee against Olympique de Marseille in their most recent outing, last weekend, at Stade Velodrome. Terem Moffi gave Nice the lead before Jonathan Clauss and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned the game on its head but Melvin Bard notched a 72nd minute equaliser for Nice.

Up against his former side, Patrick Vieira will be aiming to take it to a flailing Nice side. Strasbourg, as mentioned, have been underwhelming throughout the campaign but have enjoyed periods of good form. The streakiness is a worry, though, given the fact they have just potentially started a losing streak against Lille. Nice, on the other hand, may just be turning a corner and finally finding some fluency as they score five goals in their last two matches. Given that, potentially siding with Nice looks the way to go for this one.
